i
DOAAAINE OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a ship provided with an installation for launching and recovering floating or submersible devices, which comprises a lifting device comprising a set of cables which retains a basket configured to support said device during said launching and recovery.
TECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
There are already known ships provided with a launching and recovery facility for floating or submersible devices.
Thus, there are fixed or mobile ramps allowing boats to come to run aground on the rear part of a ship.
But these ramps must have a particular shape to associate with the shape of the hull of the boats. Under these conditions, this specific form harms their versatility. In addition, impacts caused by grounding represent a risk for people and / or boats.
The raft system is also known, which is a compartment inside a ship that can be opened outwards and submerged.
Under certain environmental conditions, we observe inside the raft phenomena of amplification of water movements which represent a risk during transfers. In addition, the maneuvers of filling the raft with ballast are long and tedious operations.
Davits are systems that lift a boat by attaching one or more hooks to it, then move it from the outside to the inside of the ship.
But these davits require that the boats be specially equipped with lifting points.
Furthermore, these operations to be carried out by the crew of the boat (recovery of the hook or arm) are risky operations. And they are not compatible with drone type boats.
Finally, cranes and gantries known as A Frame are versatile lifting means which can also be used in this context. But they have the same type of characteristics and limits as the davits mentioned above, with the difference that they also make it possible to recover submerged devices (small exploration submarine for example).
In any event, there is an unresolved need to have a vessel provided with the most versatile and secure installation for launching and recovering floating or submersible devices, in order to whether it is compatible with a wide variety of sizes and types of gear to be recovered, whether automatic (drones) or not.
Furthermore, the invention aims to ensure that the maneuver of the machine takes place in the best conditions, to preserve the equipment but also the integrity of the people who may participate in the maneuver.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention therefore relates to a ship provided with a facility for launching and recovering floating or submersible devices, which comprises a lifting device comprising a set of cables which retains a basket configured to support said device during said launching and recovery, said cables being movable vertically between two extreme positions, respectively high and low, characterized in that said basket has an upper face which is in abutment against at least one surface, called contact surface , of said lifting device, when said cables are in the high position.
Thus, the fact that the upper face of the basket comes to bear against a surface of the lifting device, the pendulum movements which would normally occur are here limited, so that the safety of the persons participating in the maneuver is greatly improved.
According to other advantageous characteristics of this vessel:
- Said lifting device comprises a carriage on which is arranged the cable assembly, this carriage being configured to be moved horizontally;
- said contact surface of said lifting device consists of at least part of a lower face of said carriage;
- Said basket is provided with at least one float.
In accordance with a particular embodiment of the invention, the vessel comprises a guide member which connects said basket to a wall of said vessel, which is configured to block possible translational movements of the swerve type and 'cavally and of rotation type yaw of said basket, when this basket is in the floating position.
According to advantageous characteristics of this embodiment:
- Said guide member cooperates with a profile with generally vertical direction guide path mounted on said wall of said vessel, said member having one end which is configured to be engaged in said profile and to move in vertical direction along said guide path during said launching and recovery;
- Said guide member is coupled to two elements which are in contact with said wall of said ship, on either side of said guide member, thus forming a straight linear connection with the wall of said ship;
- Said end of said guide member has the shape of a sphere;
- Said profile has an open upper end;
- Said profile extends only over a part of the height separating the extreme positions of said cables, from their low position;
- said open upper end of said profile is flared up and / or forward.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following description of a preferred but non-limiting embodiment of the invention. This description is made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of an installation which is part of the ship according to the present invention, this ship being shown only very partially;
- Figure 2 is a side view of the installation of Figure 1, the cables of this installation being shown in these two figures in their lower position;
- Figure 3 is a perspective view of the aforementioned guide member and the means with which it cooperates;
- Figure 4 is a view similar to Figure 2, but showing a position of the installation in which the cables are in the high position, which corresponds to a transition position for the transfer of a boat on the ship;
- Finally, Figure 5 is a view of the same installation, the boat being in a final position in which it can be placed on the ship.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In all of the appended figures, the ship 1 in question is only very partially represented, for reasons of simplification.
In this case, we have been content to represent a wall 10 of this ship, generally vertical wall which may be constituted for example by a part of the hull of the ship. There is also shown a flat surface 11 which is preferably constituted by an upper deck 11 of said vessel.
This vessel 1 is provided with an installation 2 for launching and recovering in a floating or submersible vehicle.
More particularly, this installation 2 comprises a lifting device 3 which is installed on the above-mentioned bridge 11.
This lifting device 3 could consist of a simple lifting crane or a gantry. However, in the embodiment shown here, the lifting device 3 is somewhat different from a crane and its description is given below.
This lifting device comprises four feet 30 and 30 'which are articulated on the deck 11 and which together form a fictitious and deformable rectangular parallelepiped. As shown more particularly in Figures 1 and 2, two feet 30 constitute a pair and are connected by a cross member 31 so that the assembly constitutes a kind of inverted U.
This pair of feet 30 is the furthest from the edge of the bridge 11. The second pair of feet 30 ', which is closest to the edge of the bridge, comprises a cross member which is articulated on the pair of feet 30'. This cross is referenced 31 '.
Reference 32 has been made of the means which make it possible to jointly actuate the feet 30 so as to impart to them a rotational movement so that they can pass from a position tilted forwards to a position tilted to the rear, as particularly shown in Figures 1 and 5, respectively.
The lifting device 3 also comprises a parallelepiped plate 33 which is cantilevered, horizontally, in the vicinity of the top of the pairs of feet 30 and 30 '. More particularly, one end of this plate is articulated with respect to the cross member 31 and simply guided with respect to the cross member 31 '.
This plate is largely cantilevered with respect to the pair of feet 30 and 30 ′ so that, in the position of FIG. 1 as well as in that of FIG. 4, a large part of this plate 33 is located. directly above the water on which the ship is positioned.
The plate 33 is provided with a movable carriage 34. To this end, the carriage 34 is provided with wheels 340 which can move along guide paths which comprise the opposite edges of the plate 33, as shown in particular in the figures 1 and 2.
The carriage 34 is provided with a lower face 341 whose specific function will be explained below.
The carriage 34 is equipped with a set of cables 35 which, in the position of FIG. 1, are largely unwound. Although this is not visible, the carriage 34 incorporates a device for winding these cables so that they can be moved vertically, in the direction of the double arrow f in FIG. 2.
In other words, these cables can be unwound so as to occupy a boat, which will be described below, a low position as shown in Figures 1 and 2 and, respectively, a high position in which the cables are completely housed inside the carriage 34, as shown very particularly in FIG. 4.
The cable assembly 35 retains a basket 4 which is configured to support a machine consisting here, in the embodiment shown, of a boat E of the boat type. But it could be another type of device, for example a mini submarine.
This basket 4 comprises a semi-rigid float 40 which has the shape, seen from above, of a U with a base 400 and two parallel wings 401.
This U-shaped structure provides an access opening 402 for the boat E, an opening which is therefore opposite the base 400 of the float 40.
Between the branches 401 of this float extend chains, cables, chains, straps, a net or any other device 42 the function of which is to support this boat E.
The function of said float 40 is to place the basket at a height compatible with the boat to be recovered and to allow said basket, when it is in the flotation position, to follow the movements of the water.
This support structure is surmounted by a clearing cage 43, of parallelepiped shape, which in no way interferes with the positioning of the boat in the basket 4 but which can at least partially cover it, as shown more particularly in FIGS. 1 and 2.
This cage 43 has an upper face 430. In the case shown here, this face is flat, horizontal and discontinuous (in two parts). But it could be otherwise.
In the embodiment illustrated in the appended figures, the installation also comprises a guide member 5 which connects the basket 4 to a wall of the ship, in this case the wall 10, member 5 which is configured to block the movements of yaw (horizontal movement of rotation around the vertical axis), of runoff (translation on the horizontal transverse axis) and of swerve (rotation on the longitudinal horizontal axis) of basket 4 during at least part of the movement vertical cables 35 in the direction of the double arrow f, but also when the basket 4 is in the floating position
More specifically, with reference to FIG. 3 appended, this guide member has the form of a rod 5 which is here made integral with a pair of arms 6 constituting a frame 60.
More specifically, the rod 5 extends substantially parallel to the two wings 401 of the float 40 of the basket 4 during the transition phase. This guide member is therefore integral with the above-mentioned frame 60 which is itself articulated on the float. At the end of the arms 6 extends a pair of wheels, inflatable tubes or pads 601, the function of which will be explained below. The free end of the rod 5 has the shape of a sphere 50.
The guide member, in this case the rod 5, cooperates with a section 7 with a guide path in a generally vertical direction, section 7 which is mounted on a wall of the ship, in this case the wall 10, as shown on the figures.
As is particularly visible in FIG. 3, the end 50 in the form of a sphere is configured to be engaged in the profile 7 and to move in a vertical direction along the guide path. More specifically, the section 7 has, seen from above, the shape of a C with an opening 70 facing the basket 7. Its upper end is open so that the sphere 50 can be engaged in this section from above only.
In order to facilitate engagement from top to bottom, the upper end of the profile 7 is provided diverging upward and / or forward and for this purpose comprises a set of plates 71 and 72 which gives the assembly a funnel shape.
We will now explain how the installation according to the present invention is used, firstly with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
In these figures, the boat to be repatriated to the deck of the ship is already placed in the basket 4.
This assumes that, beforehand, the lifting device 3 has been actuated so as to make it occupy the illustrated position where the plate 33 is largely overhanging the water. Furthermore, the cables 35 have been controlled so that they occupy a low position in which the basket 4 is at water level, or even a little bit lower.
In doing so, during the downward movement, the sphere 50 of the arm 5 was found engaged inside the profile 7, this maneuver being facilitated by the funnel shape of its upper part.
During the downward movement, the sphere 50 travels inside the profile, while the wheels (or flanges or pads) 601 bear on the wall 10 of the ship. During this downward movement but also during the opposite upward movement, the possible movements of the basket in a direction of translation towards the ship 1 are prevented by the rod 5, as are the movements of the wheels. On the other hand, any pitching movements (rotation around the horizontal transverse axis), roll (rotation around the longitudinal horizontal axis), heaving (translation on the vertical axis) are not blocked when the basket is in position waterline.
Once the boat E has been placed on the basket, which is itself in the floating position, to make it occupy the position of FIGS. 1 and 2, the winding of the cables is then piloted so as to make reassemble the basket in the direction of the carriage 34 and tray 33.
During this ascent movement, the aforementioned movements are also blocked, which greatly improves the safety of people who are either in the boat or are near the installation.
The upward movement is continued until the cables 35 occupy their high position, in which they are wound inside the carriage 34.
In doing so, the upper surface 430 of the basket 4 comes into contact, or even in engagement, with the lower surface 341 of the carriage 34, so that the basket 4 is somehow immobilized relative to the lifting device 2.
During this upward movement, the sphere 50 of the guide rod 5 has disengaged from the profile 7, as shown in FIG. 4. This is of course due to the fact that the profile has a height much less than that which separates the water level trolley 4.
In the upper position of the basket 4, any pendulum movements of the latter are eliminated since it becomes integral with the lifting device 2.
It then suffices to drive the carriage 34 as well as the feet 30 and 30 ′ of the device to make it occupy the extreme position of FIG. 5 in which the boat E can be placed on the deck 11 of the ship.
It can be seen from the foregoing description that all of the maneuvers for recovering or launching the floating object or not are largely secured by the fact that the possible movements of translation or rotation are perfectly controlled. Consequently, the maneuvers can be carried out in complete safety.
